“My daughter insisted on doing an escape room for her 10th birthday party. I knew she and her friends would probably be a little too young to solve the puzzles, but would enjoy the experience. On the evening of our reservation, the Ten Letters staff exceeded my expectations and were so patient with our group. They gave as many hints as we needed, and even afforded us a little extra time to complete the room. My daughter and her friends had a great time and I was so impressed!” – Brooke J. | Rating:

HOSTING YOUR PRIVATE PARTY AT TENLETTERS

When you host your birthday / anniversary / bar mitzvah / other-reason-to celebrate party at Tenletters, we block all 3 of our rooms just for you, and we’ll run the games simultaneously for up to 20 players. If you want a longer experience, you can book 2 rounds of game play, allowing everyone to play one room, then switch places and play another room as well. We close the business to any other play during your event, so you have the entire space to yourselves!

We also have a 9-hole Mini Golf Course on property, if you want to add that to your event, after the escape room(s)!

We have a refrigerator and freezer available for keeping food/cake(s) and drinks cold, andwe have two 8′ folding tables with folding chairs that we can set up in our lobby outside the game rooms, or you can party alfresco at the picnic tables outdoors at the mini golf course. Note, we do not provide any food or beverage, and we do not provide any party supplies or utensils. We simply provide the space, the fridge to keep stuff cold, and the tables for everyone to gather around. You bring your desired tablecloths, plastic/paper ware, plates, food, drinks, napkins, etc. We will, however, help you with the setup and cleanup, and we’ll take care of trash disposal.

We’re surrounded by fantastic restaurants in Old Town Erie, so consider getting their food to go and bringing it in, or playing our rooms and eating within walking distance, before or after your game(s). We’ve got Blackjack Pizza across the street, The Old Mine and Sweets next door to our south, Wapos next door to our north, and Birdhouse, Lucile’s, 24 Carrot Bistro, Echo Brewing Co., Azteca Mexican Restaurant, and Piripi a 2-minute walk to the north.

FAQs

Q: Do you have an age limit for your escape rooms?
A: We don’t technically have an age limit, but we recommend ages 10 and older, as the rooms are challenging. We require that any group playing a room has at least one person age 14+ in the room, as a participant or chaperone. So, if you have a group of 11 year olds for your birthday party, you’ll need to plan for an older sibling or a parent to be in the room assisting them with the puzzles.

Q: How long do we get the rooms for, with a private party?
A: When you book a private party at Tenletters, you can book our 1.5 hour party block (up to 20 players, 1 game), or our 2.5 hour party block (up to 20 players, 2 rounds of games). The 1.5 hour block includes 1 game for all participants, plus 30 minutes for food/cake in the lobby or at the outdoor picnic tables. The 2.5 hour block includes 2 games for all participants, where players get to play one room and then switch and play another room, plus 30 minutes for food/cake in the lobby or at the outdoor picnic tables.

Q: How much does it cost to host a private party at Tenletters?
A: Pro tip: consider booking a weekday for your party, as it’s cheaper. Our private party fee for blocking Tenletters on a weekday (Mon-Fri) for games and food/cake afterward is a flat $400 for the 1.5 hour block (1 round of games), or $700 for the 2.5 hour block (2 rounds of games). Our private party fee for weekends (Sat-Sun) is a flat $700 for the 1.5 hour block, or $1,000 for the 2.5 hour block. We can host up to 20 players for your party, whether weekday or weekend.

Q: Can we use the Mini Golf Course as well?
A: Yes! We’ve had lots of parties using both the escape rooms and mini golf course. You can book the entire property (indoor & outdoor) for your party time, allowing people to relax indoors or outdoors, participating in whatever they’d like to do, escape rooms or mini golf… or you can book the escape rooms followed by mini golf, bringing everyone outside to roll some putts after the escape rooms. We can discuss options after you fill out the Request Form.

Q: How do we book a private party at Tenletters?
A: To book your party, please use our online Private Party Request Form. We’ll review your information and contact you to confirm the details, the date, and the time. Thank you!

Q: What if we want to have a smaller party, with just one of the rooms?
A: If you’re planning to have a smaller group for your party (6 players or fewer), we recommend simply booking a game through our normal booking engine, as a regular group. We can’t block our lobby and other room to the public for a small party, but we’d love to be part of your celebration, so consider booking a game for 6 or fewer, before or after your food and cake!
